Martin Thomson has been minister in Dalry Trinity since 2004 when he left his first charge in Wigtown & Kirkcowan. He is married to Lorna, and they have three grown-up sons. Martin grew up in the East-End of Glasgow, studied Mathematics at St Andrews University, and taught for a few years before training for the ministry. He became a Christian as a teenager. Since coming to Dalry he has seen the interior of the church renovated – pews removed, a new glass-sided vestibule installed, and heating renovated. He has been responsible for continuing the expository ministry of David Grant, for introducing Christianity Explored, Discipleship Explored, Life Explored and The Prodigal God courses, and for encouraging a variety of outreach activities. Martin takes a keen interest in astronomy, is a hillwalker, loves sci-fi, reads voraciously and has a lively sense of humour.
